Tranquility & Safari In Silence
Ruaha National Park, the largest national park in Tanzania, spans an impressive 20,226 square kilometers in the heart of Central Tanzania. Named after the Great Ruaha River, which flows along its southeastern edge, this park is a prime destination for safaris in the Southern Circuit. The river is renowned for its exceptional game-viewing opportunities, making it a must-see for wildlife enthusiasts.
Ruaha is famous for its abundant wildlife, including a large population of elephants and over 500 species of birds. Visitors are likely to encounter predators like cheetahs, leopards, and lions, as well as African wild dogs, giraffes, hippopotamuses, Cape buffaloes, and the rare sable antelope.
Getting to Ruaha is straightforward. It is accessible by car via a dirt road from Iringa, approximately 2 hours away, or by plane from other safari hubs like Selous or Arusha. Whether you’re seeking thrilling game drives or a peaceful retreat in the wild, Ruaha offers a truly unforgettable Tanzanian safari experience.
Ruaha is Tanzania's largest national park, a vast and rugged wilderness known for its dramatic scenery, massive baobab trees, and thriving predator populations. Unlike the more famous northern circuit, Ruaha feels remote and exclusive. A 3-day trip is a whirlwind adventure focused on maximizing game viewing in the most accessible and productive areas of the park, typically around the Great Ruaha River. A 3-day safari in Ruaha is a bold and exhilarating dive into the heart of wild Tanzania. It's a trip defined by quality over quantity, offering some of Africa's most spectacular predator encounters and iconic landscapes in a compact timeframe. While you'll leave wanting more, the raw, untamed beauty of Ruaha will leave a lasting impression far greater than the brevity of the trip might suggest. It's an ideal adventure for the intrepid traveler seeking a genuine safari experience beyond the well-trodden path.
